Avenged Sevenfold just shared a new piece of music with fans. In a short piece of footage, the band revealed some impressive shredding slated to be a part of Avenged’s seventh full-length album.

Avenged Sevenfold ran their own March Madness bracket last month. After fans voted for their favorite A7X song, the champion was “A Little Piece of Heaven” from Avenged’s 2007 self-titled album. The song choice had to be an emotional one of the Avenged Sevenfold members, as “A Little Piece of Heaven” was written by late drummer Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan.

Sharing new music with fans seemed to be an April Fools trick at first, since the band played some jazz-funk fusion sort of thing. However, fans who stick around are treated with a legitimate piece of fresh Avenged Sevenfold ripping, and the first taste of new drummer Brooks Wackerman behind the kit. Check out the video above.

There you have it! As of this posting, there’s no official word on when fans can expect a new album, as Avenged is reportedly attempting to sever their recording contract with Warner Bros.
