Luke Skywalker’s Rumored Bling in ‘The Last Jedi’ Could Be Very Important
When we last saw Luke Skywalker, he had just flipped the gray hood of his grayer robes off of his head with a flourish to reveal his extremely gray wise man beard and to fix Rey with his piercing gray eyes. Word on the street is he’ll definitely have more lines in The Last Jedi, and probably at least one more outfit. A new rumor also suggests he has some new jewelry that might have something to do with his past and Darth Vader. [Be advised: this gets into some kindaaa spoilery territory, so if you want to go into The Last Jedi blind, run away!]
Because We’re in the Future Now, A.I. Is Starting to Choose Our Movies for Us
Growing up means realizing that we don’t live in the Jetsons’ version of the future, with instant meals and flying cars, but one that’s run by data and analytics. Hollywood has been inching into the data game, as companies develop software that has the ability to use information from a screenplay or a trailer to predict box office ticket sales. In the future, robots might be choosing our movies for us. It’s already happening now.
New ‘It’ Images Feature a Red Balloon and a Bunch of Terrified Kids
The ’80s nostalgia continues with the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s 1986 novel It, about an evil sewer clown that terrorizes the small town of Derry, Maine. The movie is actually just Part 1 of the story, as, like the novel, the new film will be split into two sections: the first occurs during the main characters’ childhood, and the second comes 30 years later, with the return of the creature that appears every three decades. The film debuted three new images today, showcasing our team of young heroes and red balloon-toting Pennywise the clown.
Zack Snyder Keeps Acting Like Superman Might Not Be in ‘Justice League’
Who are the Justice League? The group is comprised of a bunch of different heroes in different combinations based on which comic arcs you’re reading at the time, but it always seems to have three core members: Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Warner Bros. new Justice League movie didn’t feature the red-caped Kryptonian in this weekend’s trailer, and seems to be acting like he won’t be in the movie. Even Zack Snyder has been cagey about it.
Mark Hamill Shares Another Photo From the First ‘Star Wars’ Shoot that Lucasfilm Kept Hidden for Years
Mark Hamill, like many stars who enjoy sharing glimpses of the days before they finally made it big, enjoys posting the occasional photo or two from the sets of Star Wars. Just a few days ago, he shared what might very well be the first ever photo taken of Luke Skywalker in costume out in the middle of the Tunisian desert. Today, another early photo of himself as the young Jedi was unearthed, and Hamill pointed out that Lucasfilm was not keen on letting the public see it for years.
New ‘Avatar’ Land Videos Take You on a Lazy River Ride Through Pandora’s Glowing Rainforests
With Avatar 2 delayed yet again, it’s starting to sound like we’ll never see James Cameron’s much-hyped return to Pandora and his tribe of blue aliens. That is, unless you can grab yourselves some tickets to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and hop onto their new “Pandora — The World of Avatar” ride. The concept has been teased for months, and today we get our first look inside at all the magic, and, honestly, it looks pretty incredible.
The New ‘Star Wars: Aftermath’ Novel Could Explain the Origins of the Knights of Ren
For every cool new character The Force Awakens introduced, and every familiar face it brought back, ten new questions popped up in their wake. It’s been more than thirty years since Darth Vader’s death and the destruction of the Empire, and the galaxy has changed quite a bit since then. Plenty of new players have entered the game, including a mysterious organization known as the Knights of Ren. Our buddy Kylo Ren is one of these Dark Side fanatics, but he seems to be the only one. So, what happened to the other Knights of Ren? And how are they, exactly?
M. Night Shyamalan Already Has an Outline Ready for His Next Movie
Split marked quite a comeback for a director whose name has lately been synonymous with huge disappointments. But by contrast, Split is a slick, thrilling superhero movie, and one of Shyamalan’s best in years. It’s still making waves at the box office and, riding off its success, the director already has a sequel planned that’s actually more like the third in a trilogy. If you haven’s seen Split yet, be aware that there are pretty major SPOILERS for the end of the movie from here on out.
Watch Milla Jovovich Recap All of the ‘Resident Evil’s in Less Than 3 Minutes
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is coming out in a week(!), and as the last in a five-movie franchise, it’s the culmination of 15 years of zombies and Hives and Alices and Umbrella Corporations that we’ve grown up with. If you need a bit of a refresher before heading into the last installment — and it’s usually a good idea, since these movies tend to pick up pretty soon after the previous one left off — it can seem like a daunting prospect. That is, unless you have Milla Jovovich herself to recap the whole series for you in record time.
A CGI General Leia Is Rumored for ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’
Unexpected deaths of actors who are part of huge ongoing franchises make things complicated. You want to pay your respects in a decent way, while also, in the best case scenario, keeping the rest of the series afloat without them. Carrie Fisher had finished shooting all of her scenes in Star Wars: Episode VIII before her death in December, but she still apparently has a pretty big role to play in the final installment. How will they keep the story going without actually having her in it? There’s a rumor going around that Disney is thinking of going the Tarkin route.
