Alexisonfire have officially reunited for the long-term! Over four years since calling it quits and a handful of rare gigs since, Alexisonfire announced their return at Riot Fest Toronto with the words, "We promise to never leave you again."

Alexisonfire experienced massive popularity after releasing their highly experimental self-titled album in 2002. Pushing the boundaries of what a post-hardcore band could accomplish, three more full-length records were put out in the following seven years consisting of vast stylistic changes. Nevertheless, Alexisonfire fans stuck by their heroes, allowing guitarist / vocalist Dallas Green even more success with his City and Colour project along with guitarist / vocalist Wade MacNeil's journey into becoming the frontman for Gallows.

During Alexisonfire's Sept. 19 headlining set at Riot Fest Toronto, Wade MacNeil addressed the crowd. “Thank you for believing in this band when we couldn’t even believe in this band,” MacNeil said. “Thank you for sticking with us. We promise to never leave you again. No more sentimental s--t. Alexisonfire is officially back.” The crowd responded with a thunderous ovation, which was followed up by a jam of "Young Cardinals."
