After the recent arrest of 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell, who was charged with vehicular homicide on April 19 in Nashville, resulting in the death of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., the band has canceled its upcoming spring U.S. tour dates.

When news of Harrell’s arrest first broke over the weekend, 3 Doors Down issued a statement, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”

3 Doors Down are now following up on that sentiment with some show cancellations, with the official statement reading: “Out of respect to Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., and his family, 3 Doors Down has cancelled the band’s four scheduled U.S. April / May appearances. They will resume touring May 31 in Moscow, and return to the U.S. for scheduled dates in July.”

The band was scheduled to appear at upcoming festivals like Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, Fla. on April 28 and Carolina Rebellion in Concord, N.C. on May 5, but will be cancelling all of these dates until they head overseas on May 31.

According to police reports, Harrell was allegedly under the influence and speeding when his car hit the pickup truck that Shoulders was driving causing it to spin out of control, hit a guardrail and flip down an embankment.

At this time, there has been no official comment from Harrell regarding the situation. According to TMZ, Harrell was held on $100,00 bond.
