For those of you in the younger generation of the population, I thought I would do you a solid and line out the occasions when it is inappropriate and downright un-necessary to have your smart phone out.

At any live sports event - if you’ve paid to watch a baseball game…the that’s what you should do.

Anything you attend that involves kids; an awards assembly, school play, end of year presentations, soccer games…there’s really no reason to be checking Tender at little Suzie’s 3rd grade recital…pervert.

On a date;  There really are few exceptions to this rule, not only does having your phone out while on a date indicate that you have far more important things to keep track of but it also means you could be missing out on what you wanted out of the date in the first place….time with someone you really dig.

Obviously business meetings, I feel like I shouldn’t even have to list that one but ya just never know.

AT THE MOVIES!!!!!! Be warned, if you are in the same theater as me and I can reach you from my seat with minimal effort I might lean over and punch you in the throat if I see you on your phone….unless your checking in on Facebook and in that case check me in too!!!!

On a boat….duh.

At lunch;  doesn’t matter who with, date, boss, friends….it just isn’t cool to be telling a story and realize that the people at your table all have their heads down staring into the internet abyss.

At a wedding.

Funeral

Christening

While your being arrested;  cause who’s ganna hold the phone for your first handcuffed selfie…not you, by the way a handcuffed selfie doesn’t have to mean you’re being arrested, if ya know what I mean ;-)

In court.

Walking down a hall.

In the bathroom -  Although in my heart I feel like there should be no reason for me to explain why this is a no, no, I am aware that some people actually prefer save their catching up for poop time.  No! Especially not in a public restroom.  I have been in the ladies room at the movies on several occasions where I have heard people talking in their stalls, taking pictures! Yes pictures and playing games that make video game type noises. This is creepy and gross people, so just don’t.
